LIFE CARE PLANS/MEDICAL COST PROJECTIONS

LIFE CARE PLANS & MEDICAL COST PROJECTIONS

At The Vocational Expert Group, one of our major responsibilities is acting as Certified Life Care Planners. As we typically work in personal injury, motor vehicle accident, and medical malpractice cases, two (2) of the main questions we commonly answer are: What are the future medical care needs? What are the estimated costs of each medical care need?

Life Care Planning

Life care planning is a collaborative process that determines future medical care needs and the estimated medical costs. Life care plans are an important aspect of any injury case that we do not take lightly. Our life care plans are based on consultation with doctors, surgeons, therapists, and other providers, as well as reliable and valid research.

Life care plans may include, but not be limited to:

  • Routine medical appointments and consultations
  • Diagnostic imaging and/or testing
  • Medications
  • Equipment and supplies
  • Orthotics/Prosthetics
  • Wheelchair needs
  • Architectural renovations
  • Transportation needs
  • Attendant care
  • Residential care
  • Counseling

Medical Cost Projections

Following the same methodology of life care planning, a medical cost projection is a summary of the reasonable and likely current and/or future medical needs, and related costs, of a less serious injury. A medical cost projection typically aids attorneys in the settlement of a case.

With a life care plan or medical cost projection in your case, you have professional testimony that is well-researched and is backed with years of experience. With our knowledge and experience, our expert witness testimony will be admissible as easily understood and usable evidence.
